Our community. Our values. Our cancer care.
Knowledge and Action Leaders, called KALs, are a trusted network helping LGBTQ people affected by cancer. We learn the content, talk with people we already know, suggest next steps, and record what we hear to make the system better for our community .
We're starting with people diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Cisgender gay, bisexual, pansexual, queer, and same-gender-loving men. Transgender women, nonbinary people, Two-Spirit people, intersex people, partners, caregivers, and chosen family.
Trusted conversations
KAL work happens in everyday places as well as LGBTQ centers, Pride groups, support groups, online communities, trans-led and Two-Spirit organizations, faith groups, and senior groups.
Privacy first
You never record names or private medical details about the people you help. You record the action, setting, topic, barrier, and next step only.
The KAL program supports health education and outreach. It does not provide medical advice. People with medical questions should speak with a qualified health care professional.
